Learning about the Law from People's Law School provides information for newcomers to Canada and others about the laws in British Columbia and Canada.
We tried to keep the language easy, but some parts may still be hard. The words that are in italics are defined in the section, What the Words Mean.
Be sure to use the information in the section Find Out More at the end of the publication. It refers you to a wide range of resources that will answer your questions and provide help if you have a legal problem.
This publication brings together into one volume several People's Law School booklets and resources:
- Learning about the Law: Fundamentals of Law, Criminal Law, Civil Law
- Learning about the Law: Family Law, Young People and the Law, Older People and Elder Law
- Learning about the Law: Working in BC, Renting a Home
- Consumer Law Wikibook
- Driving in BC
- Paying Taxes in BC
- Workplace Bullying and Harassment
