The PCQO received about 5000 care quality complaints in 2011/12, over 4500 in 2012/13 and over 7100 in 2014/15. Less than 2% of the complaints (90 cases in 2012/13 ans and 100 in 2014/15) received by the PCQO were reviewed by the Patient Care Quality Review Board.
