Mary Mouat

Mary Mouat, QC is a senior subject editor for JP Boyd on Family Law, and is jointly responsible for the chapter on Children in Family Law Matters. Mary graduated from the University of Victoria, Faculty of Law in 1987. Since her call to the BC Bar in 1988, Mary has maintained an active practice in Victoria. She works exclusively in the area of family law.
She is a qualified mediator, a roster member of Mediate BC, an active member of the Victoria Collaborative Law Group and past Chair of both the Family Law and Victoria Alternative Dispute Resolution sections of the CBA. Mary is on the board of the BC Collaborative Roster and the BC Hear the Child Society. Mary has been active in a variety of professional organizations, including the Law Foundation of British Columbia, which she chaired from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2010, the Canadian Bar Association's BC Branch, and the Victoria Bar Association. In addition, Mary has served on a variety of community boards, including the Victoria Women’s Sexual Assault Centre, the Victoria Heritage Foundation, and the South Vancouver Island Family Planning Society. Mary was appointed as Queen’s Counsel in December of 2011. |
