JP Boyd on Family Law has had many contributors over the years. Since 2020 John-Paul Boyd has resumed as the lead author and editor, but most pages have been revised by more than one dedicated subject editor over the various editions. Megan Ellis QC served as senior editor for many years, and this resource owes much to her dedicated efforts. Up until 2020, the editing of JP Boyd on Family Law chapters relied on pairs of subject editors. Before that, editors emeriti (members of the judiciary and legal academia), were asked to provide general overview and guidance.

  • Subject Editors tended to work in pairs to ensure a specific chapter is up-to-date. Cross-mentorship was encouraged between subject editors, as more junior subject editor was generally more comfortable with the technological aspects of updating content on the wiki, while senior calls tended to have more knowledge about the law.
  • Senior Subject Editors were subject editors with substantial experience (over ten years) in family law.
  • Editors emeriti (editor emeritus singular) were judges, masters and law professors with accounts and profiles on Clicklaw Wikibooks, but who were not assigned specific chapters. They were encouraged to review content overall, make suggestions to subject editors about changes to chapters, and make other recommendations to site administrators as they see fit.

Since 2020, JP Boyd has committed to rewriting most of the chapters on his own, with input or assistance from others where needed.
