→Provincial Court Early Resolution and Case Management Pilot Project
The Early Resolution and Case Management Model is a new process being piloted in the Victoria registry of the Provincial Court. It is intended to encourage parties to resolve family disputes by agreement or to help them obtain just and timely decisions in Provincial Court. In addition to the early resolution requirements, the new process introduces a family management conference which will replace first appearance and provide increased case management. This will help with further dispute resolution and help ensure parties are prepared if they need to proceed to trial.
The pilot project is governed by its own rules, which are very different than from the usual Provincial Court Family Rules, and uses its own forms. You should assume that anything we say in this chapter about the Provincial Court does ''not'' apply to family law cases in the Victoria registry.
For more information about the pilot project, read the [[Provincial Court Early Resolution and Case Management Pilot Project]] section in this chapter or the material about the project available on websites of the [https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/life-events/divorce/family-justice/your-options/early-resolution provincial government] and the [https://www.provincialcourt.bc.ca/enews/enews-13-05-2019 Provincial Court].
